Frances May (Trent) Nicholls

Frances (Fran) Nicholls passed away peacefully in Grande Cache, Alberta, on April 10, 2021.

Fran was preceded in death by her husband Allan, father Gilbert, mother Helen, and 13 siblings.  

Fran is survived by her children Laurie (Randy) Layton, Valerie Nicholls, Susanne Nicholls, and Michael Nicholls; grandchildren Arron Petrie, Nicole (Liam) MacLeod, Owen (Linda) Nicholls, Brian (Samatha) Courschene, Justin (Krystal) Carter, Kari (Justin) Keech, Alisha (Tyson) Purdy, Courtney (Clint) Yates, Austin Yates, Cody Yates, Tessa Melnyk, and Chelsea Melnyk; and eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Flo Alden.

Fran will be fondly remembered for her love of sewing and crafting, as well as she was an avid gardener and was very proud of her flowerbeds.

The family is very grateful for the care that Fran received from the staff at the Whispering Pines Lodge and to Mark Riley, Sarah Johnson, and the homecare staff for their unconditional support and care that Fran has received from them over the last few years. The family also would like to extend their appreciation and a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Gillett and staff at the Grande Cache Hospital for the care given to Fran.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to either the Whispering Pines Lodge or the Grande Cache Hospital.

At this time, there will be no funeral service arranged for Fran. The family will plan a Celebration of Life in the summer of 2021.
