It is with profound sadness and with heavy hearts that the family of Edward George Ernest Hall announce his passing on March 31, 2025 at the age of 84, in his hometown of Edson, Alberta. His battle with cancer in recent months showed his courage in facing life challenges with a gentle smile. Despite the pain, Ed remained compassionate and stayed strong until the end.
Born and raised in the Edson area, Ed was known to many in the education and agriculture industries. Gone before him was his wife of 36 years Joyce Hall, and sisters Loma, Ethel, and Dorthy Ellen. Ed will be deeply missed by his family, friends and particularly sisters; Norma Seve, Eva Stelter, and Ruth Egan-Hall, his adventure partner Susan Neu, his son Ryan (Adrienne) Hall, daughter Kerry (Scott) Ruether, and grandchildren Gavyn Hall, Covin and Avaya Ruether.
Ed was never scared to take on new opportunities and did everything with honesty and integrity. He had very strong values and with his calm and steady demeanor, he was well liked by everyone. Ed had incredible patience and always made time to help others either with his own hands or with experience and guidance.
Edward will be honoured with a celebration of life at the Bethel Pentecostal church in Edson on May 3, 2025 at 1:30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to Haying in The 30’s Cancer Support Society are very much appreciated. (https://www.hayinginthe30s.com/) The society accepts donations through e-transfer.
