It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dolores (Del) Chorley on Friday December 18th, 2020. Dolores was in her 92nd year of life, born on January 11, 1928.
Within those great years Dolores’ highlights include her marriage to Ronald in 1951 and had 2 sons, Douglas and Les. Dolores worked at Hayward Lumber Company and then CW Carry as Head Accountant from 1972-1993. After Dolores’ retirement she headed for the open road in her motorhome to see as much of the country as she could. For years she had her favourite winter recreational area at the Slabs in California, gathering each year with friends from across the country.
She is preceded by her husband Ronald Chorley (1981), son Douglas Chorley (2007) and sister Yvonne Nobert.
She leaves behind her son Les, daughter-in-law Lee, brother Ken (Alice) Monson, sister Elaine Anderson and grandchildren: Christie (Jason) Chorley - Johnson, Kyle (Dagmar) Chorley, Sheri (Robert) Kruzel, Travis (Ashley) Chorley; great-grandchildren Jax Johnson and Jasper Chorley; close family friends Lynn Chorley, Nan Pellatt as well as many nieces and nephews.
Dolores moved from Edmonton to Jasper and made it her home. Since 2014 she resided in Pine Grove Manor and Alpine Summit Seniors Lodge. She enjoyed socializing with all the residence and guests.
“While you leave an empty place in our hearts, you have also provided us with a lifetime of memories.”
Family and friends will get together at a later date to have a celebration of Dolores’ life.
The Chorley family wants to thank the Doctor, all the nurses, and support staff of the Jasper Alpine Summit Seniors Lodge, Seton Hospital and Evergreen Foundation for all the years of amazing care that Dolores received.
