Denise Womacks passed away at her home in Hinton on November 30, 2024, at the age of 75.
Denise was always quick to laugh and always had a smile on her face. She loved the sun on her face, the sand in her toes, and loved to watch all the people around her whom she loved, play, laugh and enjoy life to the fullest.
Born in Elk Point, Alberta, Denise grew up with her beloved parents Lyle and Lynndelle always nearby. Together with her older sister Cheryl, the family enjoyed the short hot summers with playing sports, which was always a huge part of Denise’s life. Her father cultivated her lifelong love of baseball and hockey. She played baseball for many years and was at the height of happiness while watching her loved ones on a diamond or in an arena cheering on the action.
Denise was able to soak in the world around her as she traveled across North America, including Mexico and the Caribbean, with exploration of Europe. She loved the road and all of the wonderful new experiences she had by meeting new people.
Denise found her greatest joy in watching her grandchildren, and all the children and grandchildren of all her many friends, grow and succeed in their lives.
Denise is predeceased by her grandson, Danton, and she is now at peace that she can re-join him, and her parents. She is survived by her children Karra-Leigh (Jody) and Denise’s grandson Logan, and Jaydan, and Denise’s grandsons William and James.
A Celebration of Denise’s Life will take place as the flowers start to grow and the butterflies fly in the Spring of 2025. Denise adored the coming of summer and bringing people together to feel joy and love. In honour of that and Denise’s zest for life, we will hold an event after the snow is gone in the Edmonton area. Details will follow concerning the celebration in the coming weeks.
In lieu of flowers, please instead spend your money and precious time on those whom you love, just as Denise always did.
