Christian Alfred Rasmussen

We regretfully announce the passing of Christian (Chris) Alfred Rasmussen, aged 71 years, at his place of residence in Hinton, AB.

He is survived by his son Karl Rasmussen of Terrace BC, sisters Linda Warnick and Marilou Ouellet, his girlfriend Bernice Mailloux-Trepanier and their families. Chris was predeceased by his parents, Kaj Rasmussen and Rose (Rocchio) Rasmussen.

Chris was born on July 6, 1950, in Edson, AB to Kaj and Rose Rasmussen and grew up in Jasper. After school, Chris joined the Air Force in 1968 and became a carman for CN Rail after returning home in 1969. He spent his career with CN in Jasper, moving to Smithers in 1989, where he stayed until retirement. Chris moved to Hinton in 2009, where he spent the rest of his days.

Some of Karl’s favourite memories are summers and school holidays spent with Chris, fishing, camping and going on motorcycle adventures. Chris was a caring father and always had time for his son. He was a dear friend to Bernice and her family and was always there for her through the years. They made many happy memories together that she will always cherish.

A service will be held at a later date.
