Christian Bryldt Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Chris Bryldt announces his passing in Edson, Alberta on Christmas Day, 2020 at the age of 80.

He leaves to mourn his loss: his loving wife of 60 years Lorraine and his 4 sons Jay, Kevin (Carol), Shawn (Melissa) and Randy (Monique). There are 11 grandchildren Blaine, Denise, Shane, Andrew, Brittany, Brandon, Bret, Jacob, Zachary, Kirsten, Trenton and 9 great grandchildren Tayden, Dakota, Jasmine, Tyson, Logan, Carson, Bentley, Kailey and Jackson. We love you dad, grandpa and great-grandpa and will miss you and your sense of humor.

Predeceased by his parents and brother Eigil (Ike), he is survived by one sister, Margaret, as well as other relatives. Born in Randers, Denmark in 1940 to Erik and Kirsten Bryldt (-Christensen) he immigrated to Canada in 1957 with his family. He began his apprenticeship in the printing trade and established and operated Trail Printing Ltd in Edson since 1974.

Chris was involved with many Community projects and organizations in Edson including as ID Counselor, Town of Edson Counselor, Municipal Planning Commission, Edson & District AA, the Pioneer Senior’s Cabin, the “Fun Singers”, the Red Brick School Museum, Edson Historical Society and earned the “Citizen of the Year” award in 1994. He enjoyed many other interests over the years, including motor biking, Model ships building (especially liked the Bluenose), music, carpentry and family gatherings.

The family would like to thank friends and neighbors for their help during his illness, cards, food, flowers, etc. Also, thanks to the doctors, nurses & staff at the Edson Health Care Centre. Thanks also to his “Coffee buddies”, especially Dennis Sloman for all his help.

As were his wishes, there will be no formal Service.
