It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic news that Blair Alexander Rossel, 39, of Hinton, Alberta has passed away on Tuesday, July 22nd in Edmonton, Alberta.
Blair was born on April 28th, 1986, in Cranbrook, British Columbia, to John and Marlene Rossel. He grew up in Cranbrook, Edson, and Prince George, with his brother Beau and his sister Brandy. Blair was a talented hockey player, playing for and captaining a number of rep teams across British Columbia and Alberta, receiving tryout offers from the Prince George Spruce Kings and Cougars. Blair also enjoyed golf, sky-diving, high-intensity acrobatic workouts for his audience on Instagram @rosselfit, and was a big fan of action and martial arts films.
Blair was a great appreciator of the tenets of Buddhism and Buddhist philosophy. He had many little buddhas with him on his journeys. Blair had a great love for animals, especially owls, and enjoyed cuddling with the family pets. He loved to go for motorcycle rides, especially to nearby parks in order to unwind and connect with nature while hiking.
Blair graduated high school in Prince George and worked at number of skilled jobs over the years, among those managing a tire shop, and working on a number of restoration jobs. He owned his own company, Exceptional Finishings, for a number of years in Calgary before returning home to Hinton for personal and health reasons.
He is survived by his father John, mother Marlene, step-father Mark, brother Beau, sister-in-law Kathleen, nieces Kaylee and Zoey, and nephew Dominik. He leaves behind his beloved cats Tsuki and Gizmo. He was predeceased by his sister Brandy (2011).
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested for the Canadian Diabetes Association.
Blair will be interred at the Prince George Mausoleum in the near future.
