Born in Truro,NS on August 15, 1947, he was the eldest son of the late Wendell and Doris (Totten) Jobb; grandson of the late Barry and Dorothy (Staples) Totten and the late Perley and Ella (Rushton) Jobb.  Wayne is survived by brothers Brian (Joan), Lunenburg, NS; and Dean (Kerry Oilver), Wolfville, NS; sisters Shannon (Philip Hamula), Calgary, AB; Gail (Gary Collier), Peers, AB; Janet (Michael Trefry), Hatchet Lake, NS; sister-in-law Kathy Jobb, Sechelt, BC; sister-in-law Susan Tonkin (Richard Worsfold), Toronto, ON and numerous nieces/nephews and great nieces/nephews.

Wayne was predeceased by his wife, Pat Tonkin (2012) and brother Elmer (Al) Jobb (2020).

Wayne grew up in the Debert/Belmont area, attending the one-room Upper Belmont School and later Central Colchester High School, Onslow, NS.  Almost all of his working days were in newspapers.  His 37 year career started with the Truro Daily News and took him to Kenora, ON where he met and married Pat (Tonkin (1977). Then to Hinton, AB, Sherwood Park, Grande Prairie, and Edmonton area, working for Bowes Publishing and Sun Media.  He rose through the companies to become Executive Vice-President, retiring in 2007.  A year later Wayne and Pat moved to Irvines Landing, Sunshine Coast, BC.  They had a love for the outdoors and continued their passion for sailing (their schooner Brandelara), hiking, camping and travelling.  While still in the Edmonton area, they took part in activities at Sunshine Bay Yacht Club, Seba Beach and Lake Wabamun. Wayne gave back to his communities through scouting (received a medal –Order of Scouting-Northern Region-in 1998) and through Rotary Club service.  Being a ham radio operator was a keen interest.  His health started to deteriorate in late 2016; his dementia gradually worsened and he was placed in continuing care.

Thank you to Gail and Gary Collier for their care and support, also to the health providers at Edson Continuing Care.

Arrangements entrusted to Foothills Memorial Chapel, Edson, AB.  Cremation has taken place.
