It is with great sadness and loss, the family of Arthur Joseph Boutin announce his passing on September 25th, 2021, at the age of 88. Arthur was born March 1st, 1933, in Saint-Honore’-de-Shenley, Quebec, to Alphonse and Delia Boutin.
He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his two sons Michael of Calgary, AB and Darcy (Cindy) of Hinton, AB. His two grandchildren Sierra (Trenton) of Leduc, AB and Colton (Megan) of Hinton, AB; his four great grandchildren for which he always had a twinkle in his eye: Kennedy, Braxton, Parker and Leo, as well as his sister Marie-Ange Boutin of Quebec and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.
Arthur was predeceased by his loving wife Marjorie of 46 years, his later life partner Flo LaBerge, parents Alfonse and Delia Boutin, brothers Emile, Albert, Leopold, Gerard and sisters Marierose, Laurentien, Imelda, Blanche, Irene, and Alice.
Arthur moved to Hinton in the late 1950’s where he met Marjorie Bohning, they were married May 21st, 1960, and together they raised their two boys in Hinton. Art and Marge loved to travel, one of their favorite places was Hawaii. Together Art and his brother Albert ran their logging company “Boutin Trucking” for more than 40 years. Art was a great cook and baker, a skill which he picked up while working in camps in Quebec. He also enjoyed gardening, fishing, and especially spending time with his grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Art loved the community of Hinton.
A sincere thank you to the LaBerge families for always being so kind and welcoming to Arthur and making him a part of their family.
We would like to thank Dr. Muthanna and the staff of Hinton Continuing Care Centre for the care, and support provided to Art over the past few years. We cannot express our sincere gratitude enough that he could remain in Hinton for his remaining years.
As per Arthur’s wishes no service will be held at this time. In lieu of floral tributes, donations if desired may be made to The Resident Care Foundation, 3045 Bradwell Street, Hinton, AB T7V 1S7.
