Armand Poulin Obituary

It is with great sadness and loss, the family announces the passing of Armand Poulin on September 20th, 2021, at the age of 91.  Armand was born March 7, 1930, in St Honore Shenley, QC to Josephat and Aurore Poulin.

He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife Marlene of 68 years, daughters Denise Welbourne and Corinne Poulin, grandchildren, Darren (Danielle) Hermann Jr. (Samantha), Kristin (Rick), Dustin, Ryan (Sarah), Sheena (Sean), Ashley (Carl), Chelsea, Steffi, Chaitra (Justin), 23 great grandchildren, 1 great greatgrandchild as well as sisters Mariange, Aline and Ginette.

Armand was predeceased by his son Garry, daughters Kim and Suzanne Bartling, granddaughter Trina Leonard, son-in-law Don Welbourne, 5 brothers and 2 sisters.

Armand and Marlene met in Hornepayne, ON and were wed on May 1, 1953. They moved out west to Hinton, AB on Nov 1, 1957, where he worked in the logging industry. Armand purchased his own logging truck in 1973 and continued to log until he retired in 1985. In 1986 they moved to Saskatoon, SK and then on to St Albert, AB and finally settled back in Hinton, AB where he lived his remaining years. During that journey, Armand kept himself active in retirement and found a passion for doing woodwork, building swings and creating numerous beautiful pieces for family, friends and others.

Armand and Marlene loved vacationing with family and friends, going many times to Hawaii, his "paradise". He also loved playing cards/crib with his grandchildren, working on jigsaw and word puzzles, going for long walks, bike riding, and skating. You could always find Armand in his favorite restaurants enjoying coffee or a sundae with his family and friends.

He will always be remembered for his funny sayings and songs that brought a smile and a chuckle to us all.

There will be a small family service held on October 2, 2021, at Our Lady of Foothills Church.
