Annie Alice Knee

1932 - 2019

With great sadness, the family of Annie Knee announces her passing on January 2, 2019 at the age of 86. She will be lovingly and forever missed by her devoted husband of 67 years, Walter George Knee, and her children Hubert (Bessie), Teeder (Brenda), Earl (Bogna), Marie (Peter), Bill (Shauna), and Jennifer (Todd). She was predeceased by her precious oldest daughter Christine and her son-in-law Maurice Reimnitz. Annie also leaves behind 14 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. She adored each and everyone. They will miss her immensely. Annie will also be remembered by her 3 remaining siblings back in Newfoundland, Baxter, Job (Ena), and Ethel (Clayton).

One of seven children, Annie Alice Brown was born July 25th, 1932 in Wesleyville, NL where she met and married George Knee in 1952. Annie and George moved their family to Schefferville, Quebec in 1963 and remained there until 1983. Their journey took them back to Newfoundland for a few years before settling in Hinton, AB in 1989. In her younger and healthier years, Annie’s life revolved around taking care of her large family. She was kept busy raising her seven children, cooking, baking, going for walks and having long chats with friends, watching her favourite soaps, and attending church nearly every Sunday. She had a gentle disposition and a contagious laugh. Her family will forever mourn her loss.

Her family would like to extend a thank you to the staff of Hinton General hospital for taking such compassionate care of Annie in her final days as well as the many home care workers that assisted her over the past three years. She certainly enjoyed their chats. A celebration of her life will  take place in Hinton on Saturday, January 12th, 2019. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Kidney Foundation of Canada can be made in her honour.
