Anne “Oma” Steingrube

August 18, 1916 to October 14, 2018 (Age 102)

With sadness, the family of Anne Steingrube announces her passing peacefully on October 14th at the age of 102, in Hinton. She will be lovingly missed by her sons Herman and Klaus Steingrube, and her son-in-law Marcel Dery. Anne was predeceased by her husband Joe Steingrube and her daughter Monika Dery. She is survived by 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Oma was dedicated to taking care of her family and her home, including her beloved pets and houseplants. She spent as much time outside working on her garden as she could, and watching the birds. She was an avid reader and loved German crossword puzzles. She enjoyed filling her house with music, and played the organ at home and at church. She was a proud member of the Catholic Women’s League for over 60 years.

The family sincerely thanks the exceptional staff at the Good Samaritan Society in Hinton for their compassionate care of Annie for the past 14 years. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Good Sam.

Friends of the Derys and Steingrubes are welcome to join us for a brief service at the Our Lady of the Foothills Catholic Church on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 11 am.
