Andre "Andy" Benoit Lavigne

It is with very heavy hearts we announce the passing of Andre (Andy) Benoit Lavigne. Andre was an incredible Father, uncle, an exceptional friend, and the very best Grandpa anyone could ever ask for.  He passed surrounded with love, in Milk River, Alberta, at the age of 93, on Tuesday, March 11th, 2025.

Andre was born in Arthabaska, Quebec, September 11th, 1931, to Alphonsine and Joseph Lavigne, he was one of 12 children. He married his beautiful wife Sheila Josephine Ruddick in 1957, they created and lived a beautiful life until Sheila's passing in 1997. His Eldest daughter Jo-Ann Alexander passed in July of 2024.

He lived an extraordinary life, with many travels and lessons learned along the way. He was a man full of stories, memories, and wisdom. He spent the last three and a half years of his life living in Warner, Alberta, with his youngest granddaughter Stephanie, and grandson in-law Jesse.

He is survived by his son Andy (April) Lavigne, daughter Dena (Dwight) Lavigne, and son in law Ken Alexander. He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Stephanie Friesen (Jesse), Melanie, Tonsi (Dale), Kenneth Alexander , Andrea Summerville (Shane), Tami Vangaalen (Ryan), Pamela, Lackey (Mark), Kristen Weir ( Shane), Along with many great grandchildren, and numerous family members.

A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, July 26th, 2025, at 11:00am, followed by refreshments, at the Hinton Royal Canadian Legion.

Burial of his ashes will follow at the Woodlawn Cemetery at 4:00pm.
