Alvin Acorn Obituary

With heavy hearts, the family of Alvin Acorn is saddened to announce his passing on October 2nd, 2021, in his home in Peers Alberta.

Alvin Marshall Acorn was born April 25, 1946, in Edmonton, Alberta.

Alvin spent his life in Peers, raised his family on the farm, worked hard his whole life.

Alvin will be lovingly remembered and missed by his three boys and their families: Steven (Aubrie) and children, Ezra, Amzin and Evyn; Grant (Tara) children, Jaxon and Reese; Michael (Tracy) Children Coen, Cambell, and Finlee.

He was predeceased by his parents Clearance Holland and Stephena Acorn and sister Elvina.

Alvin was raised on his farm in Peers and continued his farming passion until the day he passed. He started by farming potatoes and grain and continued in his later years adding canola to the roster.  He loved the history of both his family and the local community and passing down his agricultural traditions. As a young man he worked in the oil and gas industry operating heavy equipment doing seismic, building roads and leases as well as forestry work. He eventually acquired his own equipment which he used when he wasn’t busy working on the farm. He was an active member in his Peers community and gas Co-op sitting on their board for 35 plus years. Alvin was a talented fix-it man. He could fix anything. If you thought it was broken, he would take it to the shop and refurbish it before you could even think of buying a new one. We will miss his infectious laughter. He would laugh until he cried as he would tell stories about their adventures on the farm.

A Memorial of “Al’s Last Harvest” will take place at his Farm on October 16th, 2021 at 2:00PM

In lieu of other tributes donations in Alvin’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke foundation of Canada or Edson Minor Hockey Association.
