Albert Stewart Obituary

Albert (Albie) was born August 6th, 1947, in Cayuga, Ontario, to parents Florence and Walter Stewart. He was the youngest of 6 children that included 2 older sisters and 3 older brothers.

As a child and young adult, he was very active in sports, he enjoyed Track and Field, Soccer, Baseball, Hockey and a little Football!

At the age of 13 he met the love of his life, Linda Jean Hawke. They were inseparable from day one. They enjoyed dancing at Teen Town, going to the drive-in movie and later on watching the Toronto Blue Jays faithfully. Albie and Linda married in May of 1965 with loved ones at their side. They then welcomed the start of their beautiful family, their eldest and only son Timothy William, in December of 1965. The family grew by one more in October of 1968 with the birth of their daughter Cindy Lorraine and last but not least their youngest daughter, 13 years later, Amanda Jean, in October of 1981.

Albie worked at the spring factory in Cayuga from the age of 14 until he and Linda relocated to Edson, Alberta, with Amanda & Tim in 1988, to work for Daniels Welding as a widely respected machinist for nearly 30 years.

Albie is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Linda, as well as his children Tim Stewart, Cindy Stewart-Held, and Amanda (Jeremy) Munkler; grandchildren Timothy (Ariel) Stewart Jr, Devin (Steve) Held, Dylan (Linda) Held, Tyler Stewart, Joselyn (Joshua) Russell and Jeremy (Brooklyn) Munkler Jr.; great grandchildren Caleigh, Carter, Lincoln, Jaylynn, Annabelle, Hatty and Poppy.

He is also survived by his siblings Harlod (Donna) Stewart, Elsie (Wilbur) Ludlow and numerous other family and friends.

Albert (Albie) was a hardworking, kind and generous man who throughout his life was always there to lend a helping hand to his family and friends. His infectious smile, witty humor and love of a good political chat will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on forever in the hearts of his family and all who knew him. And, as Tim says: “He was my dad, a son, a friend and the only one I trusted” xo

Cremation has taken place and Albert did not wish for a funeral. We ask that you spend time with your loved ones, have a shot of Jack Daniels and maybe yell a time or two at the Jays for him!

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Albert’s name to any Cancer research or Charity of your choice.
