Al passed away at the age of 47 at the Misericordia Hospital in Edmonton, with his family surrounding him, after a short battle with ALS. Left to mourn his loss is his loving wife of 23 years, Jeanine; his daughter Angelina and son Danny; parents Kenny (Patsy) Smith, Constance Davidson and Larry and Louise Tremblay; siblings Reggie (Natalie) Smith, Jennifer Tremblay (Dale Fossheim), Richard (Nicole) Tremblay, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces, as well as many friends.
Al is pre-deceased by his Poppy Kenneth Smith Sr., Nanny Irene Alexander, Grandma Helen McHugh, Granny Helen Tremblay and Grandpa Norman Tremblay.
Everyone who knows Al knows him as one of the hardest, strongest workers around. No matter the job, he always gave it everything he had. He loved spending his free time camping and fishing with Jeanine and his pup Daisey or hunting and quadding with the kids and friends.
Al loved traveling around to mud bogs and derbies as he enjoyed the mud and the noise of the cars and trucks. Birthdays and celebrations were not complete without a big feast that Al prepared whether it was a lobster feast or a BBQ/ Pig Roast.
As much as Al enjoyed doing all of these hobbies, the thing that brought him the most joy was putting a smile on everyone’s face.
A Celebration of Life for Al will be held Thursday, March 9, 2023, at 1:00 PM at the Edson Legion.
In Lieu of flowers donations in Al’s memory may be offered to STARS.
