Steve Albert Stanko

Steve Albert Stanko age 63.

Passed away Thursday May 30th 2019 in Jasper Alberta.

Born in Jasper to Steve and Lydia Stanko. The first of three boys followed by Mike and Ron.

Steve will be profoundly missed by his family, most of all by his loving wife and soulmate

Leanne, as well as his other great loves, his dogs Ernie and Rosie.

Steve will always be known for his love of Jasper and the mountains and the joy of them

which he loved to share. His passion for sports and always striving to improve led him to be

renowned in cycling, climbing and any other activity he chose to partake in. All of his friends

and family have been grief stricken as a result of this tragedy.

The Stanko family would like to extend their gratitude to all those who helped during this

tragic occurrence. We are also very grateful for all the kind words and stories that people have

come forward to share.

A great man who was both friend, mentor and so much more to so many people,

this service will be open to both family and public. Reception will follow service and we

welcome everyone to come share your love, respect, stories and most of all celebrate a man who lived life to the fullest.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes

Catholic Church 406 Pyramid Road, Jasper, AB.

Reception to be held following the service at the Jasper Legion, all are welcome.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made in Steve’s name to either:

Alberta Arthritis Society or Alberta Animal Rescue

The biggest part of Steve’s heart was reserved for his true love, Leanne. From the moment he

first set eyes on her at Papa George’s he was hooked forever. He was a dedicated partner in life and there was no looking back.
