Roger “Rod” Roderick Gauchier passed away in Edson, Alberta on Saturday, April 28th, 2018 at the age of 85 years.

Rod is lovingly remembered by children Anna (Ron), Daniel, Roger (Janice), Marilyn; step children Deborah, Doug (Susan), Mike; grandchildren Kirsten (Jason), Christopher, Trevor, Mariah, Eric, Jon, Marcus, Roland, Jason, Amanda, Jared, Brad, Rebecca, Colton, Loretta, Shawn; great grandchildren Owen, Levi, Jayden, Bella, Olivia, Sunny, Kimberly, Tyler, Julianna; sisters Christine and Carol (Lorne); brother Lloyd; as well as several step grandchildren, many extended family members and friends.

Rod was predeceased by his loving wife of 58 years Isabel (2017); daughter Elizabeth (2018), parents John (1988) and Margaret (1984); brothers Reg (2004), Jim (1998), Don (2012); sister Colleen (2006); grandmother Louisa (1974) and step children Jack (1992), Sharon (2012), Dwayne (2007) and Franz (1987).

A Wake will be held at the Edson Friendship Centre ~ Edson, Alberta on Wednesday May 2, 2018 at 6:00 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church ~ Edson, Alberta on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. with Father Varghese Munduvelil officiating. Those who wish to pay their respects may do so immediately following the Service. Subsequently, interment will take place at the Marlboro Cemetery ~ Marlboro, Alberta. Following interment, a reception in honour of Rod will be held at the Marlboro Community Hall ~ Marlboro, Alberta.

As an expression of sympathy and in loving memory of Rod, memorial contributions can be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada (Edmonton, Alberta) in care of Foothills Memorial Chapel – Edson Funeral Home P.O. Box 6358 Edson, Alberta T7E 1T8 or in person at our office located at 5040 – 6th Ave. Edson, Alberta.
