Hubert Thebeau

1935-2018

Hubert was born in St. Ignace, New Brunswick on April 26, 1935 to Joseph Thebeau and Delphine Richards. He had moved and been living in Alberta since 1963. He retired from teaching after 30 years but continued to do some substitute work until just a few years ago.

He was the eldest in a family of 15 children. Hubert was predeceased by his parents:  Joseph & Delphine both in 1978; 2 brothers: Robert and Delphin Thebeau who both died in infancy; 3 brothers: Elzear in 1991, Pierre in 2013 and Theodore in 2017; 2 sisters: Melina and Patricia both in 2009. He was also predeceased by his parents-in-law: George in 1994 and Diane 2004; 2 brother-in-laws: Rene (died in infancy) and elder brother Edward in 2006.

He left behind a son George and a daughter Joanne; son-in-law Nigel Green and 2 step-grandchildren Kevari and Kaylia Green; brothers: Emile (Andrea) Thebeau (Hartford, Connecticut, U.S.A.), Robert (Lynn) Thebeau (Oshawa, ON.), Delphin (Irma) Thebeau (Moncton, N.B.), Josephat (Robin) Thebeau (Nobleton, ON.), Amand (Elianne) Thebeau (Hinton, AB.); sisters: Marie Louise (Alyre) Richard (St. Louis de Kent, NB.)  and Noella (Telex) Guimond (St. Ignace, NB); Sister-in-law: Noella Laramee (Edward) (St. Paul, AB.); Brother-in-laws: Raymond Laramee (Cranbrook B.C.), Andre (Patricia) Laramee (St. Paul, AB.), Harvey Laramee (St. Paul AB.), Arthur (Diane) Laramee (Red Deer, AB.) He also leaves numerous nieces and nephews to mourn.

Hubert loved life and he was always a teacher at heart, no matter what he did or where he went he liked to learn. He like playing bingo, cards and camping and always wished he could’ve travelled more. He was a very generous and kind person to a fault and did a lot of volunteering especially S.P.C.A. was very close to his heart, having 3 dogs (Simon, Princess and Bear) at home that he spoiled rotten. 

A ‘HUGE THANK YOU’ to Dr. Dr. Muthanna, Dr. Sorensen, Dr. Corser, for all the care and support they provided our dad Hubert with his medical prognosis and battle with cancer. Also thank you to all medical staff in Hinton and Edmonton.

A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00pm on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at OUR LADY OF THE FOOTHILLS CATHOLIC PARISH, 124 Tamarack Avenue, Hinton, AB.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am on Friday, December 21, 2018 at OUR LADY OF THE FOOTHILLS CATHOLIC PARISH in Hinton, AB. Luncheon will follow the funeral service.
