Ernest “Ernie” Spreen

December 15, 1935 – September 19, 2018

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ernie Spreen on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at the age of 82 years.

Ernie is survived by his son Douglas (Marina) and daughter Adriana Mills; grandchildren Zac Mills, Grayson (Hannah) Mills, Mia Spreen and Anika Spreen; brother Carl (Marjorie) Spreen and sister Bonita (Henry) Suicenec, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ernie was born in Edson, AB to Kathe and Carl Spreen. He met Maria Vanderburg in Edson and they married April 27, 1963. He worked at various jobs, from milkman to his own business.

He was a wonderful father and husband who had a great sense of humour. He loved to hunt, fish, and go camping with his children and nieces and nephews. He always had time to help someone and tell a story or two. He will be truly missed.

A Celebration of Ernie’s Life will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, October 5, 2018 at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #51 (5016 5 Ave, Edson, AB T7E 1T4), with Reverend Bill Bulger officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in loving memory of Ernie may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada (14925 – 111 Ave. N.W. Edmonton, AB  T5M 2P6)
