Daisy Irene (Davis) Garneau-MacKay

Garneau/MacKay, Daisy, age 96, of Hinton Alberta passed away in the evening of July 24th, 2019. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by three generations of her descendants. Daisy is preceded in death by her parents Jesse and Lottie Davis, her siblings Doris, Jessie, Howard, Walter, Helen, Alvin, and Earl, also her first husband Albert Garneau, and her second husband Alvin MacKay. Daisy is survived by her three younger siblings Vern, Marie, and Max, along with her daughters Ellen, Yvonne, and Mariea (George), and eleven grandchildren as well as a great number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Daisy lived in the local area since 1941 and was a devoted resident of Hinton for the past 61 years. She was a sweet, kind-hearted, and spirited woman. She enjoyed helping others and bringing them joy, as she did work as a volunteer for the mentally disabled of her community. Daisy also embodied a lifelong journey of learning which she passed on to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she enjoyed taking adventuring in the country. Daisy believed in soaking in every aspect of life that was offered and living a life well lived.

The family would like to extend an invitation to Daisy’s Memorial Service that will be held on her birthday,

August 9th, 2019 at 2 p.m. at the Hinton United Church at 101 Muskuta Drive.

The family also asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to

the Hinton Continuing Care Centre at 1290 Switzer Drive or Hinton General Hospital at 1280 Switzer Drive

as a thank you for their continuous hard work and the care they showed for Daisy.
