Brian Pitt
1936-2019
Mr. Brian Pitt of Whitecourt, AB., beloved husband of Dorothy Pitt, passed away suddenly on September 30, 2019 at the age of 83 years.
Brian was born in Birmingham, England to William George Pitt and Frances Bacon Pitt. He married Dorothy at Hepburn on Tyne Co. Durham, England.
Brian went to sea school and served in the Merchant Navy for 10 years. He also worked in prison service, as well as security and was a 1st class electrician.
Brian came to Canada in the early 70s with his wife Dorothy and young daughter Alexis. They went on to have another child, Nyree-Dawn. In Canada, Brian served as a volunteer Fireman, served 3 terms on Town Council and was a past Master Mason.
He enjoyed amateur radio, painting and traveling.
Besides his loving wife Dorothy, Brian will be lovingly remembered by his children Alexis (Terry) and Nyree-Dawn (Avtar); grandchildren Lee (Patricia) Wakefield, Morgan (Matt) Wischlinski, Keegan Pitt-Townsend; as well as 1 great-grandchild who is expected in December. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Catherine Britnell and brother-in-law Chris Alix; as well as his niece Claire.
Brian was predeceased by his parents William & Frances; and grandparents James and Beatrice, Arther and Emma.
A Celebration of Brian’s Life will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at the Whitecourt Senior’s Circle (5212 – 50 St., Whitecourt, AB) with Reverend Rita Milne, officiating.
